Emergency Building and Additional Christmas Storage for Garden Centre

Background
A fire at Ruxley Manor Garden centre, based in Kent, completely destroyed its 5000 sq m warehouse facility along with the majority of its stock including plants, furniture, garden tools and equipment.

Requirement
Following the fire, company director, James Evans considered the interim options available to restore a warehouse facility whilst a new build was planned.

Solution
Instead the garden centre, which attracts over 250,000 visitors a year, opted to hire an 800 sq m temporary building from Aganto.

With an extensive stock of buildings that require no foundations available for immediate rental, Aganto was able to install a fully operational building within just 12 days of the initial enquiry.

Its experienced site management team also assisted in clearing a compound in order to locate the temporary warehouse, by removing fencing and floodlights and relocating oil tanks.

Benefit
James Evans comments: “As the fire had not affected the retail store we were determined to continue with business as usual. With the aid of a temporary building we were able to maximise our stock levels in a short period of time and mitigate the impact on our customers and our business.

“The speed and professionalism with which Aganto responded to our enquiry was very impressive and its experience in such circumstances proved invaluable in allowing us to resume trading with the minimum delay and disruption.”

The garden centre also recently opted for a further 200 sq m of temporary warehouse space from Aganto, to expand its premises in line with the busy Christmas period.
