Background to the temporary workshop project
Leading power and gas company, E.ON, recently turned to Aganto Temporary Building Specialists when they needed additional storage for an upgrade project at their Connah’s Quay plant. With little time to plan and construct a permanent storage building, E.ON needed to consider an alternative that would give them the same result in a fraction of the time and cost..
The project at the North Wales site was to upgrade the main turbines which in turn would improve environmental emissions and meet impending Europe wide regulations. Secure additional storage was needed to house the parts and equipment needed for the upgrade.
The challenge however was to complete the programme ahead of the new regulations coming into force and it was this tight time-frame which ruled out a permanent building.
Researching alternatives E.ON found Aganto’s website which provided good product information on temporary buildings and enabled an assessment of budget costs.
Aganto were invited to tender and eventually chosen on their ability to meet the technical specification and offer a comprehensive service. A major consideration however was the ability to meet the demanding schedule with capital parts being delivered only days after completion of the building.
